Privacy Policy

1. About CompanionNow

CompanionNow is an independent pet-care information and provider-search service. We are not a veterinary practice, crematorium or clinical provider. This policy explains how information is handled when you use the website and its forms.

2. Information used for provider search

When you search, you may provide a postcode, animal type, service needed and, for urgent veterinary searches, how quickly care is needed. This information is used to return relevant providers. The migrated search does not ask for your name or full home address in order to perform a postcode search.

Postcodes are sent to a UK postcode lookup service so they can be converted into geographic coordinates for distance calculations. Technical hosting services may also generate standard security and operational logs.

3. Information you submit to us

Contact, provider-suggestion and provider-pilot forms can collect information such as your name, organisation, email address, telephone number, postcode or service area, website, services provided, message and your consent to be contacted. We use this information to respond, review provider information, manage provider participation and improve the service.

4. Provider directory information

CompanionNow maintains provider information gathered from public and first-party sources such as provider websites and professional/public registers. This can include business names, addresses, contact details, service information, public pricing and source links. Providers can contact us if they believe information should be corrected.

5. Service providers and data sharing

The migrated CompanionNow application uses Base44 to operate the website and store form submissions, Airtable as a source for the live provider directory and pricing data, and a postcode lookup service for geographic search. When you choose to visit or call a listed provider, you interact directly with that provider and their own privacy terms may apply.

We do not sell personal information to advertisers. We may disclose information where required by law, to protect the service, or to suppliers that process information on our behalf under appropriate arrangements.

6. Cookies and analytics

The migrated app may use essential technical storage or cookies required by the hosting platform and browser functionality. We do not currently rely on advertising cookies to provide the public provider-search journey. If additional analytics or marketing technologies are introduced, this policy and any required consent controls should be updated accordingly.

7. Retention and security

We keep submitted information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose it was collected, operational requirements and applicable legal obligations. We use the access controls and security features available in the services that host and store CompanionNow data.

8. Your data-protection rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law can provide rights including access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and data portability. You may also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.

9. Contact us
